The School of Technologies at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is seeking a full-time Instructor of Meat Science for it's new Agriculture Program. This 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position is available August 2025.

As a full-time Instructor, the faculty member will teach a minimum of thirty credit hours per academic year and advise/mentor students in the related program areas. Courses taught may include: Exploring Livestock Careers & Industry, Fundamentals of Meat Science, Animal Nutrition and Rumination, Food Sanitation, Principles of Meat Animal Anatomy & Physiology, Meat Animal Processing I, Food Microbiology, Meat Animal & Carcass Evaluation, Animal Processing II (sausage & specialties), BBQ Science, and Meat Science Internship.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Meat Science or related program and a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the field required. Prior teaching experience preferred. Applicants must be able to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, alumni, adjunct faculty, and members of the professional community. Successful candidates must be organized, have effective multi-tasking skills, and be able to work in a changing environment.
