GT Environmental, Inc. (GT), an environmental consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, OH, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Environmental School Educator to lead educational initiatives within the Gallia-Jackson-Meigs-Vinton Solid Waste Management District (District). This role focuses on promoting environmental awareness among school-aged children by delivering engaging presentations on waste reduction, recycling, composting, landfill operations, and household hazardous waste. The educator will collaborate with schools across Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton Counties to conduct in-person and virtual presentations, with an emphasis on in-person engagement. Presentations may also be in the form of assemblies or field trips. This position reports to GT Environmental. Ideal candidate will reside in Gallia, Jackson, Meigs or Vinton County. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES Social & Interpersonal Skills
• Deliver environmental presentations to school-aged students and teachers.
• Set-up, schedule & conduct a total of 389 presentations over the two year contract.
• Provide effective delivery of presentations in the classroom and field trip sites.
• Work independently to connect with school contacts to set up presentations. Computer, Web & Social Media Skills
• MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint a bonus.
• Have the ability to update social media pages and website content when necessary.
• Creativity to assist in developing promotional and educational materials.
• Creativity to engage in hands-on learning experiences. Education Skills
• Deliver established and innovative educational programs for diverse age groups, including programs aligned with Ohio Learning Standards. Assess the effectiveness and relevance of programs on an annual basis. Presentations are usually a maximum of one hour in the classroom or assembly.
• Build and maintain relationships with school districts in Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton Counties.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Keep to the presentation goals of the project and track the presentations provided in each county.
• Represent the District at community events and meetings to promote district programs and initiatives.
• Prepare and submit regular updates, reports, and other documentation as required.
• Extensive travel to schools (1st through 12th grade) throughout Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton Counties.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in program coordination, public speaking, and community engagement.
• Strong presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Previous teaching or environmental experience is a plus.
• Must have no criminal record and be able to pass a background check.
