The University of Rio Grande & Rio Grande Community College is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Director of Health Services to oversee and operate our nurse-led health clinic. This is a one-person operation, requiring a motivated healthcare professional to provide comprehensive medical services to students, faculty, and staff. The Director of Health Services will be responsible for delivering primary nursing care, managing clinic operations, promoting wellness initiatives, and serving as a key resource for health-related concerns on campus.This full-time administrative position is offered as a 10-month (August to May) contract. The annual salary range is $45-50,000 and includes a comprehensive benefit package.

Essential Job Duties: Clinical Care & Medical Services

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries within the scope of practice
  • Administer first aid, over-the-counter medications, and prescribed treatments as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Offer guidance on general health, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Refer students to local healthcare providers, urgent care, or emergency services as needed.
  • Stock CINTAS first aid cabinets on campus.

Clinic Operations & Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the health clinic, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment.
  • Maintain inventory and order medical supplies, equipment, and medications.
  • Manage the clinic budget and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
  • Secure and maintain necessary licenses and certifications, including pharmacy license and CLIA certification.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal health regulations and best practices, in collaboration with the Medical Director
  • Serve as liaison with outside agencies (Gallia County Health Department, Holzer Health System, other providers) on issues related to campus wellness

Health & Wellness Education

  • Develop and implement campus-wide health initiatives, such as vaccination clinics, health screenings, wellness workshops, and health fairs.
  • Provide education on sexual health, substance abuse, stress management, and other student health concerns.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to promote mental and physical well-being.

Emergency Preparedness & Campus Collaboration

  • Serve as a first responder for medical emergencies on campus and coordinate with local emergency services.
  • Provide guidance and training on campus health and safety protocols, including offering training on CPR and first aid to students and staff.
  • Work closely with Housing and Athletics to address student/public health needs.

Position Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of Ohio
  • At least 5 years of experience in college/public health or urgent care settings
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
