Summary
The Senior IT Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading ElectroCraft’s technology-related activities, managing a team and IT assets in the US, Asia, and Europe. The ideal candidate will have advanced technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
We’re seeking an experienced IT manager who has the technological skills to take us to the next level with the replacement of an aged ERP system. This individual will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training across functions. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network architecture, experience as a manager leading a team of IT professionals, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us current with best practices and tools. The Senior IT Manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and provide substantial influence on the achievement of our strategic objectives. Reports to the Chief Financial Officer as a member of ElectroCraft’s Extended Senior Leadership Team.
Objectives of this role
Lead cross-functional selection and implementation of a cost-effective replacement for our legacy ERP system within two years.
Oversee all IT security and cybersecurity objectives, initiatives, and measurements.
Improve essential IT infrastructure and cloud-based architecture, including operating systems, applications, security tools, servers, email and telephone systems.
Provide reliable and timely information in support of internal customers’ daily needs and special projects.
Protect and secure the Company’s confidential data and intellectual property.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure in global locations.
Project Management: Lead IT projects in support of business objectives, ensuring timely and within-budget completion, including the design, selection, and implementation of a replacement of the legacy ERP system.
Team Management: Manage and coordinate a team of on- and off-site IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high-quality delivery of IT services in the US, Asia, and Europe. Assess organization and succession needs to ensure continuous improvement of IT staff.
Cyber security: Provide continuous assessment of existing cybersecurity regimen and proactively minimize operational business risk. Develop and execute planning for disaster recovery and maintain backups and immutable backups of critical data.
Long-term Relationships: Build long-term relationships with outside vendors for IT-related products and services, complementing internal resources to optimize value.
Hands-on Work Ethic: Ability to administer and use IT tools and technology in lead-by-example environment.
Compliance and Security: Ensure IT systems and processes comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for security and data protection.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop annual expense and capital budget. Ensure cost-effectiveness of the IT department.
Network Optimization: Monitor network utilization and performance and implement procedures to optimize network reliability and availability while mitigating risk.
Stewardship: Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.
Training: Provide training for employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of successful project delivery and team management.
Previous experience leading a successful ERP selection and implementation within a discrete manufacturing enterprise.
Advanced technical knowledge and certifications in IT management such as PMP (Project Management Professional) and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Assistant) are desired.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-national environment and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP platform is highly desirable.
