MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s or doctorate in nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Must hold a valid license to practice advanced nursing in the state of Ohio and have prescribing authorities. Computer experience in Excel and Word. Have experience or be willing to learn Electronic Medical Records. Must be multitask oriented and have good people skills. Strong public speaking skills and ability to work with a diverse audience. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Must be a non-smoking individual. Must be vaccinated.



DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The nurse practitioner will provide coverage of pediatric and adult patients through the Primary Care Clinic and the Reproductive Health & Wellness Clinic. Patient care needs for these clinics may include sick and well visits, STD screenings, medication refills, IUD insertions, Nexplanon/hormonal implant insertions, birth control, Vivitrol, Depo Provera, and/or other needed medication prescriptions and monitoring based on assessed patient needs. Applicant understands and accepts walk in visits for reproductive services. The nurse practitioner shall be expected to document and submit billing-coded charts for all patients that he/she sees at the health department within a timely manner, obtain medical history on patients, complete assessments and plans of care for patients, prescribe necessary medications. Work as part of a healthcare team. Refer patients as appropriate. Be able, or willing to learn, Nexplanon and IUD insertions. Give injections and blood draws. Complete basic mental health care assessments, diagnosis, and order treatment. Conduct COVID testing and assessments. Be willing to work respectfully and closely with substance abuse population. Ensure necessary requirements for continuing education for license are up-to-date.



DATE AVAILABLE: November 4, 2024



RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS: $43.72-$57.04 per hour based on experience. Ohio Public Employee Retirement System, vacation leave, and sick leave. Medical plan that includes hospitalization, vision, and dental coverage as well as prescription plan and life insurance. Sixteen paid holidays.
